Vehicle Issues

For all vehicle issues, it is best to call 311. 

• 311 is open M-F 7am-7pm

  • Need vehicle make, model, color, license plate, and address

  • Be aware of when the best time to report a violation is:

    • Street violations are handled by LMPD

    • Off street (e.g. parking in yard) is handled by Code Enforcement

      • They work M-F until about 4pm

As a reminder, our quarterly newsletters are now available on our Facebook pages (Block Watch and the open neighborhood page) as well as our Website ONLY.....we are no longer printing copies to place in mailboxes as the cost of copies has almost doubled this year.

The Annual Meeting is in process as we are coordinating dates with the church for gym rental. The notice letter, ballot and proxy will be mailed to you as per our by-laws. As always if you are interested in placing your name on the ballot to serve as an HOA board member, we welcome that.

*** New Mailbox Order Forms *** 

Charleswood Forest Home Owner Association has received a NEW Mailbox Order Form.  If you need to update your mailbox to meet requirements of our HOA, or need to order replacement parts, please see the following form.  This is one of the requirements to be eligible to win prizes, having an updated mailbox and HOA dues current.  This form will also be available under the Resource Page / Forms in the Title bar. 

Question or Problem for the Home Owner Association?

The newly elected Board is located here.  Each board Member has an office and/or assigned responsibility. 

Contacting the board member that is responsible for the area in which you have concerns is the quickest way to find answers.      Of course, at any time you need to, you may also contact the President or Vice President. 

Charleswood Forest  Block Watch 

As the HOA board, we have worked several years now in trying to organize an official Block Watch group through LMPD without much success in getting an officer here for meetings and getting new signage up.  We will continue to work on that.

But in the meantime, we have created a PRIVATE neighborhood Block Watch group.

Remember.....This is a private group for residents of the Charleswood Forest Neighborhood. Its purpose is to share information to other neighbors for the safety of our community. Keeping in mind that this is a private group for neighbor residents only, understand that what is shared is to remain private and within the group. Please understand that should you be in violation of the privacy of the group, you will be removed as a member.

Construction Forms: 

If you are planning any type of construction on your property, you will need to fill out a construction form, can be found in RESOURCES tab above.  

You can send your completed construction form in for approval by the Homeowner Association, to the following address:

Easements/Ditches

Please remember the easement behind your fence is your responsibility to keep maintained.  Throwing yard waste (grass clippings, bushes, etc.) in ditches stops the water flow. 311/Metro Call will be called if we see this happening. 

Crime Notice:  BE ON THE LOOK-OUT

Dear Neighbors: 

Several cars and trucks had break-in last couple weeks (02/2018).

 If you were one of the victims, be sure to call LMPD general non-emergency number to report this. Take a few minutes to call LMPD's 7th District office at 574-2133. Ask for the desk sergeant, make your report or lodge your concern about multiple cars broken into on your street. 

Also ask for increased marked car patrolling. They will do so if they are made aware there was an entire street (or more) affected.

Your neighbors have already begun to call and there promises to be increased patrols.

In the meantime, check your own property, LOCK your cars and trucks overnight, make sure your garage doors are SHUT and the doors to your homes LOCK. If you have security cameras, check the feed for anything out of the ordinary. Summer is on us and there always seems to be an increase in teens wondering through the neighborhood late at night.

MAILBOX COMPLIANCE

If your original (wooden) mailbox has not been replaced by January 1st, you are now considered out of compliance with the Covenants and Restrictions of the Neighborhood Association. Please consider replacing your mailbox soon to return to compliance, as well as helping to improve the appearance of the community. 

As a reminder, after January 1st, the group discount on the chosen new mailbox design expired, however the $50 credit is still available off your 2019 Homeowner's Dues.  The new design is an all-aluminum product from Eagle Sign and Design(www.eaglesign.com), guaranteed to never rust. The order form link is here (Mailbox Order Form). All installations should be installed at the current mailbox location, and must adhere to US Postal Service mailbox installation guidelines (https://www.usps.com/manage/mailboxes.htm ) for height and distance from the curb. If there are any questions, please contact a member of the Board. 

Parking Rules Reminder

• Commercial (work) vehicles may only be temporarily parked on the street. Parking a work vehicle on the street overnight is a direct violation of the Covenants of the Association.

• Cars may not be habitually parked on the street, i.e. for several days in a row.

• It is a city ordinance that parking any vehicle on a front (or side) lawn is not allowed.

• Any vehicle with an axle (trailers are included in this description), must be parked on a concrete slab, and not on grass.
